Its winter here in northern Indiana. Last night we received 4 inches of snow. Its beautiful outside this morning. A soft powdery white blanket.
It reminds me of the time many years ago when stepson T. was younger. One Saturday morning, after a previous nights snow storm, he grabbed a snow shovel, and walked down the road to the nearby trailer court. He went door to door, asking everyone if they would like to have their walk and drive shoveled. When he returned home later, he was happy, because he had earned 40 dollars shoveling snow.
How about it, could the kids go around the neighborhood and shovel walks and drives? Is there a nearby trailer court that they could go door to door? I'm sure there are some elderly people nearby that would be happy to have their walks cleaned off for a few bucks.
Keep track of the houses you work for. Next spring, go back and offer to mow their yards.
