Get Paid in Chocolate

Are you a serious chocolate lover? You won’t believe this…..

I came across a web site the other day, and I thought it was kind of wild. Hotel Chocolat a chocolate maker and retailer in England is looking to expand their operations. They currently have over 40 stores in England, the Middle East and the U.S.

In order to raise capital to expand their business, they are going to sell bonds. The money will be used to expand their factory in Britain, and to increase their plantations in Saint Lucia, also to open new stores in various parts of the world.

Nothing odd about selling bonds to raise money to expand operations, but instead of going to a bank, they are going to pay a return in chocolate.

That right Chocolate. Their bonds have two values; both will be paid in boxes of chocolate. A holder of a British $2,000 chocolate bond will receive six free boxes a year worth about $107.00 annually. A holder of a British $4,000 chocolate bond will receive thirteen boxes of chocolate a year worth about $233.00 annually.

This amounts to 5.38% return if you were to receive cash.

The initial term is for three years, and on every anniversary thereafter, holders can redeem their bond for a full return of their initial investment. As long as they decide to hold the bond, the boxes of chocolate will keep coming.

Think about it. Invest about four thousand dollars, and over 3 years receive 39 boxes of chocolate, and then get your initial investment back. Or you can let them keep the money and receive a box of chocolate, (premium chocolate) every month for the rest of your life.

A chocolate lovers dream!
