Belly Dancing

My wife's cousin came for a visit awhile back.  While talking to her, she made a offhand comment about belly dancing. I asked her if she belly danced.  She said that when she was younger, she took belly dancing classes.

Where did she take the classes?   A lady offered instruction in a near-by town,.  I asked her why belly dancing?  She responded that it was fun, and something she always wanted to learn. She also added that it was good exercise, and helped her to stay in shape.  She then said that after she became good at the dancing, she was offered jobs to belly dance.

My first thought was a strip tease act, but she said no it wasn't nothing like that.  She was a dancer, not a stripper. and she also pointed out that she was upfront about everything.  If someone tried to book a stripper act, she turned them down.  She had a friend who was a belly dancer too, and they would book jobs and dance together.  They worked a few times a month. They enjoyed it, had fun, and was paid to dance.

I read of one lady who received $120 a week to teach a belly dancing class. A part-time job I'm sure she delighted in teaching, and loved doing.

Like to dance?  How about line dancing?  Or square dancing? Or ball room dancing?  Locally we have different dancing groups that meet monthly.  Join a local group, and have fun. It could work into a fun part-time job.
